Postpartum Nurse 6 Home Visits
The service is provided by a team of specialized and trained nurses/midwives to care for the mother and newborn during the postpartum period (the first 7 weeks after delivery). The service aims to support the mother’s physical and emotional recovery and ensure safe and appropriate newborn care in the comfort of your home. First: Postpartum Maternal Assessment • Assessment of postpartum bleeding (lochia) in terms of quantity, color, and odor. • Assessment of uterine contractions and the gradual return of the uterus to its normal pre-pregnancy position and size. • Examination of the vaginal birth wound or cesarean section wound, ensuring proper healing and checking for signs of infection or complications. • Education on warning signs that require urgent medical attention. Second: Newborn Assessment • Assessment of the newborn’s skin color and observation for signs of jaundice. • Assessment of breathing and observation for any abnormal signs. • Examination of the umbilical cord to ensure it is healthy and free from signs of infection or abnormal discharge. Service Duration: 6 visits each visit is 60 minutes Service Providers: Nurse / Midwife Service Availability: Riyadh only
